Let The People Govern
Government operations constitutes 44% of the Gross National Product. It has its tentacles in virtually every aspect of our lives. While the 10th Amendment is supposed to prevent the Federal Government from passing these laws, The Federal Government uses what amounts to extortion and bribery to force states to implement its mandates.
Under the threat of withholding our tax dollars from us, The US Government requires states to implement all manner of laws that the super rich lobby for in Congress. One of these recent laws is the Real ID Act. This act will forever remove any remaining rights of free passage and privacy from Americans citizens.
All Hospitals are now required to take a sample of your newborn child's DNA without your permission or knowledge or face loss of federal funds. Your child is now subject to genetic testing by the Governement whether or not it is in their best interest. It is possible that your child might be denied medical insurance or otherwise desriminated against in the future because of this forced screening. Don't be suprised to see a carcon copy of your child walking down the street one day. Allowing the federal government to maintain a central warehouse with everyone's genetic code is dead wrong. see: S.1858 and H.R. 3825
Parents, thru PTAs, should control what schools teach and what values are taught to our children.
Education has become progressively more centrally controlled resulting in progressively worse quality. It is though the educational system that tyranny can emerge by controlling the content taught to our children.
Parents and only parents should decide on who educates their children. Parents who decide to home school or pay for private shool should be provide a tax credit in proportion to the money saved by government not having to provide that education. This would allow more lower income parents the option to educate their children as they see best.
Our children are precious. They must not be allowed to become "brainwashed" by a central authority. Parents should be responsible for teaching their children values not government bureaucrats with hidden agendas.
Elect me to Congress because I take the time to get the facts and understand the issues, unspoken motives and hidden agendas behind the laws. Whenever there is a bi-partisan bill that outwardly professes to go after the most despicable scourges of society, such as dead beat dads, child molesters, terrorists, etc, there is likely to be agents of tyranny crafting language in the bill that will take away liberties for all Americans. You will know these bills because they will often be rushed though committee due to some crisis and not read by members who vote on them.
I won't sell you out. I will restrict spending to programs that serve all Marylanders not just a few elites. I'll fight to rid our nation from the bondage of debt slavery.
